Do I need to do anything to prepare?
No, there is nothing you need to do to prepare for a treatment. In general, we recommend staying hydrated by drinking good quality filtered or spring water to help facilitate the elimination of toxins that occurs during the treatment.

If you have a health condition, we do recommend you consult with your medical practitioner prior to your appointment to ensure the treatment is suitable for you.

What should I bring with me?
You will be provided with everything you need for the treatment, including your own Endermowear body stocking or Face Kit.

Any food or beverage I should avoid?
No, there is no food or drink you need to avoid prior to a treatment. It can be beneficial to prioritise your hydration before and after treatments to help support the elimination of toxins which occurs as a result of the treatment’s lymphatic stimulating effects.

Can I wear make-up?
Face treatments are performed on a clean, dry, make-up-free face. We recommend you arrive without any make-up, moisturiser or oil on your face. However, you are welcome to arrive wearing make-up and remove it prior to the treatment. Please bring your own make-up with you if you would like to reapply after the treatment.

What if I’m pregnant or on medication?
If you are pregnant, face treatments can still be performed as well as modified body treatments, which focus only on the legs. This can be beneficial for relieving heaviness and draining extra fluid carried in the feet and the legs during pregnancy. If you are unsure if this treatment is suitable during your pregnancy, please speak to your doctor prior to making an appointment.

If you are on medication, we recommend you speak with your doctor prior to making an appointment to ensure the treatment is safe for your specific condition. However, as a rule, if you are on blood thinning medication the treatment is not recommended.

Is the treatment suitable for everyone?

Endermologie is safe for almost everyone. However, there are a few medical conditions in which it is not indicated.

Strict contraindications include:

  • Cancer or malignant tumours (must be cleared at least 3 years)

  • Acute infections, rashes or inflammation

  • Progressive infectious illnesses (AIDS or Hepatitis)

  • Heart or kidney disease

  • High blood pressure

  • Blood disorders (haemophilia, blood clots, phlebitis)

  • Respiratory disease (COPD, Emphysema, Cystic Fibrosis)

  • Organ transplants

  • Anti-coagulant treatment/blood thinning medication

  • Cosmetic surgery (requires medical clearance)

  • Injections including Botox (must wait 15 days post-injection)

How often should I have treatments?
The number and frequency of treatments will vary for each individual depending on your goals and desired outcomes. This will be discussed in greater detail during your initial consultation.

DURING YOUR TREATMENT

What happens when I arrive?
Your initial session will include discussion of your intentions, lifestyle and health history. Following explanation of the treatment and assessment of your skin, a treatment protocol will be tailored to your needs and goals.

For body treatments, you will change into your Endermowear body stocking. You will lying on the treatment bed for both face and body treatments.

Performed using a medical grade machine, a hand-held massaging head delivers suction and rolling to the area of your face or body being treated to stimulate lymphatic flow, blood circulation and activate cellular regeneration.

Sessions will also involve discussion of lifestyle factors and practices which can help support the treatment and relevant recommendations will be provided where appropriate.

Am I going to be naked during the treatment?
For the body treatments, you will wear your own Endermowear body stocking which will be provided for you at your first session. For best results, we recommend wearing no underwear or just a g-string under the body stocking.

For face treatments, you can wear your regular clothing, however, we recommend avoiding roll-necks or high collars which may restrict access to the neck area.

Does it hurt?
No, the treatment is painless and generally very relaxing. The feeling of the treatment head on the area being worked on is one of light vibration, gentle patting and suction. You may experience a feeling of ‘cellular awakening’ including a tingling and warming sensation due to the increased blood flow.

Will my entire body be treated? Are any areas avoided?
The areas treated will depend on your goals and intentions. The treatment can be customised to a few targeted areas, such as the legs, hips and abdomen. Alternatively, a less targeted full-body treatment can be performed. This will be discussed in your initial consultation.

Areas containing the below conditions will be avoided during the treatment:

  • Colds sores, vitiligo, angioma, lipoma

  • Rosacea, skin rash, infection, inflammatory acne

  • Open wounds and ulcers

  • Varicose and spider veins

  • Hormonal implants, belly-button piercing

  • Acute bone, joint or muscular injuries

  • Recent, hypertrophic or keloid scars

  • Abdominal or inguinal hernia

How will I feel afterwards?
Hopefully you will feel more relaxed, energised and appreciative of your body following the treatment. You may experience slight tingling and a feeling of vibrancy due to the increase blood flow, and your skin will usually feel immediately softer. Most clients report a general feeling of wellbeing, relaxation and energy following the treatment.

Are there any possible side effects I might experience after?
There are no real side effects following the treatments. You may experience increased urination due to the lymphatic stimulation that has occurred. This is just the body releasing excess fluid. We encourage you to drink plenty of filtered or spring water to keep hydrated and to facilitate the elimination of toxins.
